Techaven Escrow

Payment Protection for Electronics Buyers and Sellers in Malawi

Escrow means the buyer does not pay the seller directly. Techaven holds the money while the order is delivered, then pays the seller once the buyer confirms the product matches the listing.

What Escrow Means

Escrow is a payment protection process. The buyer pays through Techaven, and Techaven holds the money while the buyer and seller complete the order. That lowers the risk of paying for a phone, laptop, or accessory and receiving the wrong item, a damaged item, or nothing at all.

It also helps genuine sellers. They know the buyer has paid before they prepare the order.

Why it matters in Malawi

Online electronics purchases often happen between people who have never met. Escrow adds structure to that trust gap by keeping the payment inside the transaction until delivery is confirmed.

How Payment Is Held

1

Buyer places order

The buyer selects a product from a verified seller and pays through Techaven checkout.

2

Funds stay on hold

The payment does not go straight to the seller while the order is being prepared and delivered.

3

Delivery is arranged

Techaven helps arrange delivery based on the route, product, and seller location.

4

Order is confirmed

The buyer checks the delivery and product condition before the seller is paid.

When the Seller Gets Paid

The seller gets paid after the product is delivered and the buyer confirms that the order matches the listing. If the buyer does not raise an issue within the confirmation window, Techaven can review the delivery record and release payment under the order terms.

Accurate listings matter. Sellers need to prepare the correct item and keep proof of product condition before handover. Clear listings help payouts move faster.

If the product is not delivered

The buyer contacts Techaven support with the order reference, delivery details, payment confirmation, and any messages or call notes linked to the order.

What Happens If the Product Is Not Delivered

Techaven checks the order status with the seller and delivery party. If the product cannot be delivered, is lost before handover, or the seller cannot fulfil the order, Techaven can cancel the order and start the refund process.

What Happens If the Buyer Is Not Satisfied

If the product arrives damaged, does not match the listing, is the wrong model, or has a serious fault that was not disclosed, the buyer needs to report it as soon as possible. Photos, video, delivery notes, and serial details help the support team review the case fairly.

Provide evidence

Send clear photos or video showing the issue, packaging, accessories, and product condition.

Act quickly

Report the issue before confirming satisfaction so the payment can remain under review.

Techaven Dispute Process

1. Buyer opens a case

The buyer contacts support with the order details and explains what went wrong.

2. Techaven reviews

Support checks seller information, delivery records, photos, messages, and payment status.

3. Resolution is issued

Depending on the case, Techaven can release payment, request a replacement, arrange a return, or process a refund.
